Frequently asked questions
How the directory works, how advocates are verified, what legal help in Agra costs, and how to get listed.
Using the directory
Yes. Searching, filtering and viewing advocate profiles is completely free. There is no registration, no login and no lead form. You contact the advocate directly on the number shown on their profile, and we take no commission on anything you pay them.
No. There is no account system at all. The directory is a public, static website — you can search and call an advocate without giving us any personal details.
Start by searching your problem in everyday language, such as "landlord not returning deposit" or "cheque bounced". The search matches your words against the specific case types each advocate handles. If you are still unsure, call or WhatsApp us and we will point you to the right practice area free of charge.
We can narrow the field to the two or three advocates whose practice fits your matter, but the choice is yours. We do not accept payment for placement, and ordering is by years in practice and how complete a profile is.
Advocates and verification
Every listing begins with the advocate contacting us themselves — we never scrape or copy listings. We then check the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh enrolment number, confirm the chamber address is in Agra, and speak to the advocate by phone before publishing. The advocate approves the final profile text.
No. The badge confirms that we checked the enrolment number and spoke to the advocate. It is not an endorsement of their competence or of any outcome in your case. Please satisfy yourself about credentials and suitability at the first consultation.
No. We publish no star ratings and no review counts anywhere on this site, because we have no way yet to verify that a review comes from somebody who actually instructed that advocate. We would rather show you nothing than a number we cannot stand behind. If we add reviews later they will be tied to confirmed consultations, and advocates will not be able to edit or delete them.
Tell us and we will look into it. Where the complaint is serious we will suspend the listing while we do so. Professional misconduct is regulated by the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, and a formal complaint can be made to them directly.
Fees and costs
A first consultation in Agra typically ranges from about ₹400 to ₹2,000, depending on the advocate’s seniority and how complex the matter is. Case fees are separate and agreed between you and the advocate. Every profile on this site shows the consultation fee upfront.
Never. We do not take a percentage, a referral fee or a booking fee. Whatever you agree with the advocate is paid entirely to the advocate.
Yes. The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Agra provides free legal aid to those who qualify, including women, children, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants, and people below the prescribed income limit. Several advocates listed here also take legal aid matters — this is noted on their profiles.
That is a matter between you and your advocate, but it is normal and reasonable to ask for the fee structure in writing before you engage them, including what is covered, what court fees are extra, and how additional hearings are charged.
Courts and coverage
Principally the District and Sessions Court at Agra, the Family Court, the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s courts, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, the Labour Court, the Commercial Court, the Revenue Courts and the Sub-Registrar offices. Many also appear before the Allahabad High Court in appeals and quashing petitions arising out of Agra matters.
No. Vakil Saab Agra covers Agra city and Agra district only. Keeping the directory local is the whole point — a national portal will show you an advocate who has never appeared in an Agra court.
Advocates are listed across Civil Lines, Sadar Bazaar, Kamla Nagar, Dayalbagh, Sikandra, Tajganj, Shahganj, Belanganj, Balkeshwar, Fatehabad Road, Trans Yamuna Colony, Loha Mandi, Khandari, Bodla, Rakabganj, Shamshabad Road, Nai Ki Mandi and the Collectorate compound.
For advocates
Send a WhatsApp message to +91 89544 02360 with your name, Bar Council enrolment number, years of practice, practice areas, chamber address and the number clients may call. We verify the details, send you a draft profile for approval, and publish it — usually within two working days.
A fixed technology and listing service fee, billed in advance — monthly, half-yearly or yearly — with the optional microsite priced separately. It is not a charge per enquiry and never a share of the fee an advocate charges a client. Message us on WhatsApp for the current figures; they are sent in writing before anything is paid.
WhatsApp us from the same number you registered with and tell us what to change. Removal requests are honoured within one working day.
Listings are limited to factual particulars — name, enrolment number, practice areas, address and contact details — of the kind contemplated by the Bar Council of India Rules. We do not publish success rates or claims of comparative superiority. If you would like any wording amended, tell us and we will change it.
Still have a question?
Call or WhatsApp us and we will answer it — and if it is a legal question, point you to an advocate in Agra who can.
